Essay Prize: £500

The Society for Court Studies is pleased to advertise its annual prize for an outstanding essay in the area of court studies—the winner will receive £500 and consideration for publication in The Court Historian, the journal of the Society. The essay (up to 10,000 words, including footnotes) can be on any topic connected to court studies, broadly defined (art, culture, politics and ritual relating to royal and princely courts)—these can be focused on any time period and any geographical location. Submissions are welcomed from all post-graduate and early career (within six years of PhD award) researchers. Please send essays by 30 June 2020 to the senior editor of the journal, Dr Jonathan Spangler (). We look forward to seeing what new exciting research is emerging!
