We are excited to announce that the North American branch has been re-launched and expanded to include all of North America and South America. Now known as the Americas branch (AMB), the AMB will play a key part in the Society’s mission to grow and develop a strong community of interdisciplinary scholars, ensuring support to all members from early career researchers to independent scholars, and the development of research and engagement opportunities in the field of court studies within the Americas. The AMB will serve as a first point of contact for scholars and organisations in North and South America wanting to organise SCS-sanctioned academic events; propose collaboration or partnership opportunities; and share news and promotional materials of all things related to court studies. Along with other key administrative responsibilities, the AMB will operate as an extension of the executive branch based in London, with all the primary decisions residing solely with the executive branch and adhering to the Society’s bylaws and constitution. The Americas branch will be chaired by Dr Anatole Upart (SUNY Binghamton), who is currently putting together a branch committee. Expressions of interest to serve on this committee should be directed to the chair of the AMB via email to americas@courtstudies.org.
