“The Court Observer” is the official blog of the Society for Court Studies.
The purpose of this blog is to showcase new and innovative research in the field, from both members and non-members. Posts will be based on original research, presented in a shorter, more accessible format than a traditional journal article. This format will be particularly suitable for works-in-progress, sharing research problems or obstacles, or posts based on conference papers. As well as our usual academic readership, we also intend that this shorter, open access format will enable school teachers and university tutors to utilise our blog posts in their curricula, as accessible and academically credible readings.
The blog is published via Hypotheses, a digital academic blog forum covering all areas of the humanities and social sciences. Contributions to the blog can be submitted in languages other than English (when possible).
We are delighted to announce the 2025 call for blog contributions. The CFP can be downloaded by clicking the button below. The deadline for contributions is 31 December 2024. For more information or questions, send an email to the attention of Kristen Vitale at europe@courtstudies.org.
